Teach – Develop – Disciple

Building on the foundation that began in our children’s ministry, our youth ministry seeks to train and develop godly teenagers who grow to be godly adults who hunger for the Word of God. Our youth ministry is for kids in 6th-12th grade.

We are all about edification and discipleship. Our youth come expecting to study the Word of God, not just to hang out with their friends. We are so thankful that our teenagers want to engage deeply in God’s Word. Our Sunday night youth meetings, Sunday morning Sunday School, service projects, fellowship, and  missions opportunities all provide the teenagers with great opportunities for discipleship and fellowship.

Youth Meetings

On Sunday evenings, our youth meet for a time of Bible study and fellowship! Studies in the past have included:

  • Books of the Bible

  • Books from great Christian authors, such as David Platt, Lee Strobel, and Kyle Idleman

  • Church History

  • Chronological Bibliology

Our youth dig deep into God’s Word. Our desire for our youth is for their faith to have deep roots. As Colossians 2:6-7 says “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Fellowship

While our youth engage in deep studies of God’s Word, there are also fellowship opportunities for them throughout the year. Whether it be fellowshipping at a youth members’ house, or going on outings like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, or laser tag, our group really enjoys spending time with one another. We have also attended discipleship retreats and conferences to places like Cary, NC; Epsom, NC; Garden City, SC; and Gatlinburg, TN.

Summer Camp

A youth group favorite is our annual summer trip to Fort Caswell, located on the coast of North Carolina. This week-long trip is a time of fun, fellowship, and fundamentals of the faith. For many of our youth, this is their favorite event of the year, and even more so it has had an eternal impact on many of their lives. The worship and teaching is unparalleled; it leaves each attendee with a refreshed outlook and renewed understanding of God’s love for them and His plan for their lives.
