Plan a Visit to Green Meadows Baptist Church

We are so glad that you are interested in our church and would love to tell you more about who we are. The people of Green Meadows are not only passionate about serving the Lord through our various ministries, but are also passionate about getting those who are not yet involved in a ministry to be a part of our many opportunities!

Green Meadows is located a few miles north of Davie Hospital at 1646 NC Highway 801 North, near Farmington. Some people wear suits and ties, others wear blue jeans. You’ll be welcomed warmly no matter what you’re wearing!

We have two identical worship services at 9:15 & 10:45 AM. We offer childcare in both services for children age birth through pre-school. For school aged children, we offer engaging, age-appropriate lessons during the 9:15 service time. We invite those children to worship with their families during the 10:45 service. Sunday School for adults are offered during both service times.

If you are unable to join us in person, our services are also available on Youtube or Facebook!

Entering the Building

From the first-time guest parking, the closest entry door is the main door marked by the large blue Welcome sign.

Once you enter through the main doors, you will see a table immediately to your right marked “Information.” You don’t have to stop there unless you have questions or require assistance. But if you do, and identify yourself as a first-time guest, they’ll have a special gift for you.

A nursery is provided for newborns—preschool. Our greeters are available to give you directions to the nursery.

We take the safety and security of your children seriously. All of our ministry volunteers have been screened and background checked for safety. By checking your child in and out of our kids environment, you can experience the main worship service worry-free.

At Green Meadows Baptist Church we invite all children to worship with their families in either of our services. During our 9:15 service time, children’s classes are available for children ages birth through high school. During the 10:45 service time, we also offer children’s worship for those children age birth through preschool. We intentionally structure our children’s ministry to help children get to know God and learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The lessons are fun and approachable and taught by committed volunteers and staff who serve Jesus by serving you and your kids. Trust us, your kids will love it and learn a lot!

Should you ever have any questions, any member of our staff or any of our volunteers will be happy to help you!

What’s a Service Like?

Our services typically last about 80 minutes.

The service will begin with about 15 minutes of music led by a live band. The words of the songs will be projected onto large screens. Many people will sing along and you can too. Participate as you feel comfortable. We use music as a way of expressing our love for God and appreciation for what He has done for us.

  • There will likely be a few times that one of the leaders will pray during the service. You might be asked to sit or to stand up during those prayers. We’ll always make sure you know exactly what to do and we won’t leave you guessing.
  • One of our pastors will teach a lesson from the Bible. Our goal is to help everyone understand the Bible and to apply it to their lives. The teaching will be practical and challenging, and hopefully will inspire you in your personal pursuit of God.
  • On some occasions we may have baptisms during the service. Other times we celebrate communion together. At every service, we’ll have a host who will explain what’s happening during the service so that there are no surprises whatsoever.
  • At the conclusion of our service each Sunday we take an offering of financial gifts. This offering is for those who call Green Meadows Baptist Church their home church. As our guest, you’re not expected to give any money. That decision is totally up to you. We have been blessed with many opportunities to serve the needs of our community, and through the generosity of our church members, we can meet those needs. You are welcome to join in God’s work at Green Meadows Baptist Church as you feel you’re ready.

One of the things that our church is known for is the wonderful teaching from our pastor. He has an exceptional gift of taking what may seem like complicated topics in the Bible and explaining them in ways that we can all understand. Our ultimate goal is for everyone at Green Meadows Baptist Church to feel comfortable and confident in their ability to read and understand the Bible. If you don’t own a Bible, we’d love to give you one. Please stop by Guest Services and ask. You can also download a Bible app to your phone for easy access. Yes, that’s why all the people sitting around you have their phones out during the service. They’re not texting! Well, most of them aren’t. 😉

About our Music (AKA Worship)

Our Morning Worship includes worship songs that consist of a blend of hymns and contemporary Christian music. We worship with a variety of instruments including a piano, keyboard, acoustic guitar, cajon, and bass guitar. The goal in music is participatory worship! We want every member of the congregation to engage in praising the Lord. We sing a great blend of traditional and contemporary songs because the Lord is honored by the genuine worship in both. Performance is never the goal of a worship service at Green Meadows, the goal is to make worshiping the Lord accessible for all believers. The Bible makes it clear that worship is so important for every believer as a way of giving thanks to God for all that He has done.

We want you to feel welcome at Green Meadows Baptist Church. But we also want you remain anonymous as you need to as you check things out. You’ll never be asked to stand up, identify yourself, do the hokey-pokey, or anything else that might make you feel uncomfortable.

As our guest, we do not expect any money from you.  We will have an offering during the service, but we encourage you to let the baskets pass you by. The offering is a way for the Green Meadows Baptist Church family to respond to God and join the mission of the church through their giving. If you’re new, we don’t expect you to give. Our service is a gift to you.

If you do consider Green Meadows Baptist Church your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider regular giving. You can give by check or cash at weekend services or any time during the week when you’re on campus.

Offering boxes are located near the doors as you exit the worship center and in other convenient locations throughout our campus.

The invitation is an opportunity for the congregation to respond to the message our pastor preaches from the Bible. People come forward during the invitation to pray because they see in the Scripture a need for change in their lives to be right with God. Some people come to pray for a special need they are facing, like sickness or an unsaved family member. Some choose to counsel with the pastor about their spiritual needs and ask him to pray for them. The invitation is also the right time to ask the pastor about baptism and church membership.

You should speak to one of the pastors about joining the church. To be a member at Green Meadows, you must acknowledge that Jesus is your Lord and be baptized by immersion. If you have been previously baptized, you do not need to be re-baptized.

A, B, C:

A—Admit to God that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23).

B—Believe that Jesus is God’s Son. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life,” (John 3:16).

C—Confess your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved,” (Romans 10:9).
